Placing Concrete in Cold Weather

Winter has arrived and precautions need to be taken to protect against some of the potential problems of placing concrete in cold weather. Cold weather precautions should be taken when the air temperature is five degrees celsius or lower, or when there is a probability of it falling below five degrees celsius within 24 hours. Concrete can be placed safely throughout the winter months if certain precautions are taken. The concrete mixture and its temperature should be adapted to the construction procedure and the ambient weather conditions.
